Neuschwanstein Castle

Like in a fairy tale the castle Neuschwanstein sits majesticly on an elevated plain in the middle of the beautiful panorama of the Bavarian Alps. The visitors can see the building, which is completely built from scratch, from all sides and angels.

The castle for King Ludwig II was built in the middle of the 19th Century above Hohenschwangau near the city of Füssen. Today it is one of the most important touristic landmarks in Germany. It was the role model for the famous castle in Disneyland.

A small path snakes its way uphill around the castle towards it, a distance which you can best cover by foot or bike. The path leads through a tunnel and subsequently across a bridge over a deep canyon, from which you have a breathtaking view of the castle and the impressive mountain backdrop.

On the highest of the Neuschwanstein towers three brass players set the tone truly majestically.
