The Schauertalbrücke
The idea of installing a bridge above the visitors’ corridor came up because we wanted to provide a special experience.
We needed to build the bridge from metal as a bridge with the necessary range of 3 metres demanded a robust construction. The Grünental bridge across the Kiel Canal served as our model. More than 60 metres of brass profile have been carved in 250 components, which again have been melted together to a skeleton framing. The bridge heads on both sides must bear a weight of 15 kg each.
