Dialogue in the dark

In a historic building in Hamburg's Speicherstadt Dialogue in the Dark is based on a very simple concept. Members of the public are lead in small groups by blind guides through an exhibition, made up of totally darkened rooms. A park, a town or a bar are brought to life in smell, wind, sound, temperature and texture; everyday situations which without vision, are experienced in a totally new way.
The exhibition offers a place to learn to accept differences. Dialogue in the Dark does not hold any pedagogical or moral point of view; instead it aims to provide a platform for contact between people from different backgrounds, and as such, a contribution to more respect and tolerance in dealing with minorities.
