Dialogue in the Dark

Set in a historic building in Hamburg's Speicherstadt, Dialogue in the Dark is based on a very simple concept. In small groups the guests are lead by blind guides througout exhibit rooms shrouded in complete darkness. A park, a town or a bar are brought to life with scents, wind, sounds, changing temperatures, and textures - everyday situations which, without the sense of vision, are experienced in a whole new way.

The exhibition offers a place to learn and accept differences. Dialogue in the Dark does not want to bring across any pedagogical or moral point of view. Instead, it aims to provide a platform for contact between people from different backgrounds, as a contribution for more respect and tolerance in dealing with minorities.
