Snow Landscape

Verschneiter finnischer Grenzübergang

The northernmost regions of the Miniatur Wunderland are frosted with snow. The north of the Kiruna Mine marks the beginning of the region of permafrost in the Miniatur Wunderland.

About 50 square meters of Scandinavia is permanently frozen under the snow. The snow is mainly made of little splinters of glass and white colour and looks surprisingly real. Especially at night, Scandinavia becomes a winter wonderland, when red and blue lights are shining in the ice hotel and people are going to sleep in the villages.

A short note for our visitors: don’t touch the snow! Even though the glass splinters are really tiny, they can still be sharp!
