How long can you take looking at the exhibit?

My 11 year old and I are visiting MiWuLa the week commencing 22/10/07 as a belated birthday treat for him. My question or should I say a number of related questions, is once you get inside how long can you stay, what would be a reasonable time inside to view everything in detail and as we will not be in Hamburg until midday would it be better visiting in the evening to avoid queues? One other question which you might know, although it is not directly linked to MiWuLa, is whether it is a half-term holiday break in Germany for the kids as it is in England?

Well, we once (approx half a year ago) calculated that you will need at least 3 days to view every detail ...

Seriously, I suggest to plan at least 4 hours for your visit. The layout comprises of a couple of themes, each detailed to a very elaborate level and equipped with visitor - actions like a shark-attack in the US-section or a fun fair in the german section. Add to that self-propelled vehicles on the streets, ships crossing the north-east seas (a mixture of the Baltic and North-Sea), trains of up to 45 feet in length, displays with special seasonal trains, and, and, and...

Once you enter our rooms, you can stay as long as you want (well, at least until closing time); our tickets are day-tickets. The 22nd of october is a normal workday in Germany.

One recommendation: After entering the exhibition, do not try to see everything at once. Get an overview, then take a break in the bistro (no need to order food or beverages - you even may bring your own), and after your break tackle one section after the other; each separated by a break. This way, you have a lot more fun to view the layout and a lot more chances to actually "dive" into our small world.

Normal opening time on a monday is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, I strongly suggest to consult our website for actual opening times.
