Moulin Rouge! The Musical brings Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning masterpiece to life on stage, inviting audiences into an extraordinary setting that is a nightclub, theater, and dance hall all in one. Featuring 75 songs by 165 composers, Moulin Rouge! The Musical celebrates over 160 years of pop music history—from Offenbach to Lady Gaga—and ignites a musical firework display.
The Story
Paris, 1899. A young writer falls in love with the star of the legendary Moulin Rouge nightclub. But the love between Christian and Satine is tragically tested when the influential Duke of Monroth enters the picture. He wants to take over the financially struggling Moulin Rouge—and with it, its "Sparkling Diamond": Satine.
Together with club owner Harold Zidler and the most flamboyant bohemians in all of Paris—the brilliant but starving artist Toulouse-Lautrec and Santiago, the city's most fiery tango dancer—Christian stages a musical spectacle to save the Moulin Rouge and fight for his love.
