Accessibility in Wunderland

Are you a wheelchair user, visually impaired, or hearing impaired and would like to visit Miniatur Wunderland? We look forward to welcoming you!
The entire Wunderland is barrier-free, so you can easily get around in a wheelchair. We've also come up with special features for our visually and hearing impaired guests to ensure you have an unforgettable experience.

Arrival - Disabled parking spaces

In addition to the parking spaces directly in front of our building, you will find two disabled parking spaces at the bridge "Auf dem Sande".

Furthermore, you have the option of parking in several parking garages nearby.

Enter - The wheelchair lift

Please use our regular main entrance. There you will find a wheelchair lift for the four steps. To use it, please send someone to our ticket counter on the 2nd floor. A staff member will then come down and activate the lift for you. If you are visiting Miniatur Wunderland alone, please call the phone number displayed at the lift (+49 40 300 6 800 (Mo-Fr 8am-4pm)), and a staff member will come down to you. When you wish to leave Miniatur Wunderland after your visit, please also contact a staff member at the exit. They are, of course, always happy to assist you if you have any questions or need help. Users of electric wheelchairs should note that the wheelchair lift has a maximum weight capacity of 300 kg (wheelchair including user). Extra-wide or extra-long wheelchairs cannot use the lift, as the ramp is unfortunately narrow due to its design. The maximum dimensions are 100 cm long and 77 cm wide.

Thanks to our expansion, we can now, in certain cases, also accommodate larger wheelchairs in the exhibition. Please inform us at the ticket counter upon arrival, and we will escort you in through our second entrance at the rear (Am Sandtorkai 33). This is only possible after prior arrangement, as this entrance is not regularly staffed and you will not be able to proceed from there without our assistance.

🚧👷‍♂️ ATTENTION: Elevator renovation 👷‍♂️🚧

From January 12, 2026, until approximately February 20, 2026, our main entrance elevator will be undergoing renovations. However, an alternative is available:

Our signposted replacement elevator is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users, as there is no lift for the first five steps in this stairwell. If you are unable to manage these five steps, we kindly ask wheelchair users to walk around the building to our other entrance at "Am Sandtorkai 33." There is another elevator there that goes down to street level, and ramps are available for the small curbs. You cannot call this elevator yourself, so please call +49 40 300 680 250 upon arrival, and a member of staff will meet you.

This entrance is only staffed continuously during our wheelchair-accessible evening.

There is another elevator there that goes down to street level, and we also have ramps for the small curbs. We regret the inconvenience, but the renewal of the elevators is necessary after 25 years to ensure continued safe operation.

Getting around - elevators in the exhibition

Within Miniatur Wunderland, there is an elevator that connects the entrance area with its shop and bistro, to the exhibition levels. This elevator, as well as the accessible restroom, is marked on the Miniatur Wunderland guide, which you can pick up at the ticket counter.

In our second building (Block L), located across the bridge (on the 3rd floor), there is also an elevator providing access to the 2nd floor (with the diner and another accessible restroom) and the 4th floor (special exhibition). These are also marked on the guide.

Wardrobe and lockers

Unfortunately, we must point out that our lockers are not wheelchair accessible. Therefore, we kindly ask you to leave your jackets and bags at our cloakroom (50 cents each) if needed.

Guided tours for blind people

We frequently receive inquiries about whether we offer tours for blind people. None of our guides are blind themselves; however, several of them have dedicated considerable time and effort to making our facility accessible to blind visitors. Based on the positive feedback from previous tours, we believe they have succeeded. The structure of a tour for blind people is similar to our existing backstage tours.

If you are interested in a tour for blind people and would like to arrange a specific date, please contact us using our contact form.

Please understand that we require some advance notice; we cannot organize such a tour spontaneously within just a few days. For safety reasons, it is also unfortunately not possible to bring guide dogs behind the scenes.
