Ticket booking & Voucher redemption

Here we try to answer all questions about ticket booking and/or voucher redemption BEFORE you buy tickets.

Almost all tickets are sold out, is that correct?

  • Unfortunately, YES! (click for detailed information)

There is extremely high demand for tickets, especially between 9 am and 3 pm, particularly during holidays and weekends, which far exceeds the supply. As a result, many time slots are sold out very quickly. We sometimes have 12,000 to 20,000 people wanting to visit us daily, but we only have space for about 5,000 per day, and ideally, 99% of them would like to come between 9 am and 3 pm...

We flexibly adjust our opening hours according to the expected crowds and are open very late on many days, sometimes until 1 am. Please take advantage of the very early or very late times. The late times have two advantages: 1. it gets less crowded towards the end, making it more pleasant, and 2. you also save money, as we offer a discount for booking online for the late times.

In the mornings, we naturally operate at maximum capacity (partly for fire safety reasons, and partly because you want to see what's on offer), and we can only admit more guests as others leave. Experience has shown that this always takes a bit longer for early arrivals, so you won't find any readily available tickets in the morning, especially during school holidays.

Alternatively, you can purchase tickets with an additional experience. Besides this experience, these tickets have the advantage of allowing you to enter Miniatur Wunderland at any time on the day you wish; you just need to book a specific time slot for the experience itself.

You can also drop by spontaneously. Generally, it's less crowded during the week than on weekends, and afternoons are less busy than mornings. However, on weekends and during school holidays, you should expect extremely long waiting times of several hours. You can find the forecast when booking your ticket.

  • Are the stated waiting times realistic?

Unfortunately, YES. However, the waiting time only applies if you have NOT purchased tickets in advance. These are, of course, only estimates; the actual waiting time can vary in either direction on the day. Generally speaking, the waiting time is longer in the morning than in the afternoon, and also longer in bad weather than in sunshine.

Redeem Vouchers

  • How long are vouchers valid?

Our gift vouchers (purchased directly from Wunderland) are valid indefinitely and do not expire.

(Note: According to the German Civil Code (BGB), the minimum validity period would be 3 years from December 31st of the year in which they were purchased, but we do not rely on this.)

  • How do I redeem a ticket, VR experience or event voucher?

1.299 / 5.000To redeem your ticket or event voucher, please go directly to www.miwula.de/vip and simply follow the on-screen instructions. Enter one of your ticket numbers there (not the booking number).

When booking VR experiences, loading the appointments may currently take up to 2 minutes. Please be patient. Do not click "reload," as this will only prolong the process. On mobile devices, please ensure the screen does not dim during loading; waking the device from the screen lock will also trigger a "reload."

For VR experience vouchers or guided tour vouchers, you are booking only the date of the experience. Linked admission tickets are automatically booked for the same day, allowing you to enter Miniatur Wunderland at any time. If this doesn't work, don't worry. As long as the experience date has been confirmed on the website, we will easily activate the admission tickets upon your arrival at the ticket counter.

The page can only be found via the buttons on our homepage and not through Google. The address must be entered directly into the address bar (where www. ... is displayed) or you can simply follow the link here:

  • How do I redeem a voucher for a backstage tour?

    Gutschein fuehrung

Currently, there are two different vouchers for backstage tours:

If you still have an older red voucher without a barcode, as shown here, simply reserve your backstage tour. Just click here: Booking for voucher holders without a barcode. You will also find further information there. You will then need to exchange the voucher for the tour ticket at the ticket office upon arrival. With the backstage tour, you AUTOMATICALLY reserve priority entry, so you can book regardless of available entry times.

If you already have a newer voucher with a barcode, please go to www.miwula.de/vip to book your appointment, as instructed on the voucher. There, you will enter a ticket number. If your voucher also includes admission tickets, these will be automatically rebooked for the same day, allowing you to enter Miniatur Wunderland at any time on that day.

If you are unsure which voucher you have, please check carefully how to book your voucher; the instructions are clearly printed on the voucher.

Redeem vouchers and buy something extra

  • I would like to buy tickets in addition to my vouchers, but I can't find a way to redeem them during the booking process...

First, book only the missing tickets via the ticket booking system. Then, go to www.miwula.de/vip and book your vouchers for the same date, as stated on your vouchers. Booking everything together in one transaction is not possible.

  • In addition to my vouchers, I would like to book an experience (backstage tour or VR), how do I do that?

This isn't possible in a single booking. You only book the experience via the website. We've added separate sections for "Backstage Tour (Additional Ticket)" and "Yullbe VR Experience" to the ticket booking process. Here you can purchase experience tickets without admission to the exhibition.

Please note that an admission ticket is always required for a Backstage Tour, as it takes place within the exhibition and is only an add-on to admission.

The VR experience can also be enjoyed without visiting Miniatur Wunderland; there is a separate entrance for it.

As is generally the case, the combined discount for VR experiences is only available when booking the tickets at the same time as the admission tickets. If you are adding VR experiences to existing tickets or vouchers, you must select the regular price.

A voucher cannot be applied to a booking retroactively, and tickets and vouchers are non-refundable.

Purchase tickets on site (offline)

  • Can I buy tickets on site?

Yes, that's possible, but you should always expect sometimes very long waiting times 🕒 when buying tickets on-site, especially on days with bad weather. 🌧️☔

You can choose whether you want to buy tickets with a waiting time, which you must spend waiting on-site, or whether you want to buy tickets for a later time slot. We have a very limited number of these available at the ticket counter, even for the next few days.

If you buy tickets in advance, you are guaranteed entry WITHOUT waiting, provided you arrive within your booked time slot 😉😎

    Waiting time forecast
  • Will I also have to wait if I have tickets?

No, of course not, that wouldn't make sense. Within your booked entry time, you will naturally have NO waiting time and can enter Wonderland directly. If many guests arrive at the same time, there might be a short queue at the entrance; this would only be a brief delay at the ticket check.

Please help us by only coming to the entrance within your booked entry time. Just because there isn't a queue at the moment doesn't mean everyone can simply go in. That's why we assign entry times.

  • Do I have to spend the waiting time on site or can I come back later?

If you choose tickets with a waiting time on-site, you will need to remain here. However, you don't have to stand; we have a comfortable waiting room where you can sit. We also have a small children's play area. You must remain on-site because things can sometimes move faster if many other guests finish and leave the exhibition. If you don't enter then, you would be blocking other waiting guests.

Alternatively, we also offer time-slot tickets for sale on-site, which allow you to return later. However, this allocation is very limited and sells out quickly, so we recommend arriving very early.

If you are staying at a hotel, please ask at reception. Many (but not all) hotels in Hamburg are connected to our booking system and can issue tickets for you, or you can book one of our hotel packages.

  • How can I pay for an e-ticket?

E-tickets must always be paid for online immediately. Currently, you can pay via PayPal, VISA (including VISA debit), and MasterCard (including MasterCard debit). If you don't have any of these payment options, you can alternatively order tickets by mail from our online shop. Payment in advance via bank transfer is also possible there. Please note, however, that advance payment may take up to 7 days for the tickets to arrive.

Furthermore, you will only receive tickets without a date; you can only set the date and time after receiving the tickets.

Cancellation/Rebooking

  • Are tickets refundable?

According to the terms and conditions, e-tickets (as is usually the case) are non-refundable and cannot be canceled. However, tickets can be rebooked free of charge at any time before their validity date. If you don't yet have a new date in mind, you can convert your tickets into vouchers with no expiration date by initiating the rebooking process and checking the box next to "I would like to postpone my visit indefinitely." This will be confirmed on the screen and is sufficient.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have also booked experiences (backstage tour or VR), you can only rebook up to 24 hours before the scheduled date. For special events (Night in Wonderland, Culinary World Tour, and Big Ships & Little Trains), this is only possible up to 48 hours in advance.

You will NOT receive an email or any other vouchers afterward. Please keep your tickets, as they are your vouchers. You can then simply use them to book a new date later using the same method and will receive confirmation.

    Rebooking
  • Can I rebook my tickets?

    Yes, rebooking is FREE.

    • Admission only tickets can be rebooked up to BEFORE the booked date.
    • Admission tickets with an experience (backstage tour or VR experience) can be rebooked up to 24 hours before the booked experience.
    • Special events (e.g., Culinary Trip around the World, Wunderland at Night, Big Tubs & Small Trains) can only be rebooked up to 48 hours before the event.

Rebooking is only a change of date; the type of ticket cannot be changed (e.g., from admission to a special event).

Yes. Hamburg CARD holders pay 21.00 Euros (regular admission) or 12.00 Euros (children up to and including 15 years old) upon presentation of the card. There is no discount on the reduced-price ticket. Tickets with the Hamburg CARD discount are only available upon presentation of the card at our box office; these are not available as e-tickets. In this case, you may currently have to expect a waiting time. A retroactive application of the discount is also not possible.

Further information about the Hamburg CARD can be found here.
  • Is there a discount for wheelchair users/severely disabled people and their companions?

Yes, there is a separate price for wheelchair users. Otherwise, people with severe disabilities pay the reduced admission price, which applies from the moment you receive a disability ID card. The reduced price also applies to the accompanying person of a person with a severe disability who has a "carer" on their ID card; the accompanying person is not admitted free of charge.

We also have special opening hours exclusively for wheelchair users. You can find more information about our

    Wheelchair evening
  • Are there discounts for children (both adults and children) on their birthdays?

No, we do not offer a birthday discount.

  • How do I book tickets for companions of severely disabled people?

If a visitor has a "carer" designation on their disability ID card, please also book a discounted ticket for their companion. Unlike state-run museums or public transportation, companions are not admitted free of charge at our institution, as we are a private, not a state-run, venue.

An exception to this is the Wheelchair Evening, where the disabled person and their companion each only need one wheelchair ticket.
