Miniatur Wunderland is Germany's most popular museum.
A new ranking by TUI evaluates 3,700 buildings and museums and names Miniatur Wunderland as Germany's most popular museum.
TUI has presented its first comprehensive museum ranking for Germany, comparing over 3,700 institutions, including 1,200 popular museums in Germany, which were evaluated using a specially developed TUI score. This combines three factors: the average star rating on Google, the proportion of 5-star ratings, and the total number of reviews.
With an impressive score of 10.676 points, Miniatur Wunderland takes first place, making it Germany's most popular museum. It is followed by the Mercedes-Benz Museum and BMW Welt in Munich, the BMW Museum, and Moritzburg Castle in Saxony. Also from Hamburg and among the top 20 is Chocoversum, which ranks 17th.
“Small but mighty!” is how TUI describes the winner: "Over 100,000 Google reviews for Miniatur Wunderland speak for themselves: the detailed model world delights young and old alike with trains, planes, and landscapes in miniature format. With its attention to detail and ever-changing themed worlds, Wunderland is a must-see for families, model building fans, and anyone who wants to be enchanted."
Hamburg's Miniatur Wunderland also impresses in a Europe-wide comparison: among 13,000 museums across Europe, it ranks an outstanding third—just behind the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill in Krakow and the Louvre in Paris. Together with the Mercedes-Benz Museum, Germany has two entries in the European top 20 list.
