Annual outlook 2026

A huge chapter of Wunderland will continue to take shape in 2026: the rainforest. Together with the Martinez family in Buenos Aires, the most massive section of Wunderland to date is currently being created.
The model will arrive in Hamburg by ship in March or April. To this end, the huge section has been divided into many individual parts. Only here on site will the final details be added: figures, colors, small scenes, and liveliness. There is no exact opening date yet, but the direction is clear: the rainforest should be ready for you to experience at the end of 2026.

Over 500,000 people have now tried out our VR experiences at YULLBE WUNDERLAND and shrunk themselves down to Wunderland, which for many visitors was their first ever encounter with virtual reality.
In 2026, a whole new experience will follow: the Miniatur Wunderland Miniathlon. Almost nine months of development have gone into this interactive virtual reality experience, which takes you through different sections of Wunderland. At various stations, small skill and action games await, which are not only fun but also open up a whole new dimension of experience.

At the same time, we are planning exciting activities with three great artists. Unfortunately, we can't reveal any details yet... But one thing is certain: these will be extraordinary activities that combine art and miniatures in surprising ways.

A major project is on the horizon: in August 2026, filming will begin for a big feature film in collaboration with Studio Hamburg. It will tell a fictional story set in Wunderland, featuring well-known actors and actresses and a great script.

To enable real people to act credibly in the miniature worlds, parts of the Wunderland facility will be recreated in the studios on a larger scale based on our miniature world. If everything goes according to plan, the film could be released in theaters at the end of 2027.

On August 16, we will be celebrating our birthday, and not quietly. A special event is planned around our anniversary, which we will be announcing officially soon.
What we can already reveal is that there will be numerous activities that extend far beyond the walls of Wunderland. We are planning a very special highlight together with Deutsche Bahn: a real ICE train, christened “Knuffingen,” which will travel across Germany.

Wunderland can also be discovered in local transport and on the road with an S-Bahn train in Wunderland design, as well as a truck and a freight locomotive with special paintwork. All these vehicles will not only be on the move in the real world, but will of course also find their way into Wunderland – in true style on a scale of 1:87.

A large new area in the warehouse opens up completely new possibilities for us. In 2026, we want to begin expanding Wunderland. The plan is to create a completely new entrance and shop area, just one floor below the current one.

This will free up the current entrance and provide space for something very special: before entering the exhibition, visitors will be able to look directly into the model building and experience how Wunderland is actually created – a real glimpse behind the scenes.

As soon as the building permits are in place, construction can begin. Realistically, this will be in the second half of 2026.

Intensive planning is also underway beyond the rainforest. Work on the Caribbean plans continues, marking the first concrete steps toward Central America and thus a section that has not yet existed in Wunderland. Big ideas are already in place, the first construction tables have been set up, and the visions are becoming increasingly tangible.

At the same time, initial ideas for an Asia section are taking shape. The fascination with the infrastructure, the diversity of the countries, and the enormous contrasts of this continent provide countless starting points. 2026 will be an intensive year, especially in terms of planning: defining regions, determining locations, developing initial drafts.

Of course, 2026 won't just be about what's already planned. As always, we're working behind the scenes on new ideas, crazy records, fresh YouTube formats, and revamping our website to make it more modern and user-friendly.

Some of this isn't ready to be announced yet—but that's exactly what makes the coming year so exciting.

Between our anniversary, the rainforest, major renovations, and new visions for the future, 2026 will be a year full of movement, creativity, and bold steps. We can't wait to walk this path together with you—and we thank you in advance for filling Wunderland with life.
