The Spice Museum in the Speicherstadt shows more than 900 exhibits from the last five centuries. The museum area covers about 350 sqm in an old storehouse. The exhibits explain the life of the spices from the cultivation to the end product and you'll gain an insight to the different ways of treatment of the spices. About 50 raw spices can be smelled at, tasted and touched. The spices are either in original import bulks, just as they arrive from the different countries of origin, or they are shown in small bowls.
