Planten un Blomen

A great excursion - not for summertime only!

Tourists from Holland, England, and the U.S.A. might guess, already: The translation of the title in Northern German tongue means 'Plants and Flowers'. However, the title appears a bit humble considering all things shown in the entire area. Next to numerous, lovingly cultivated flower gardens, you'll find a skating rink, an ice-skating rink in the winter, respectively, and trick fountain concerts. From May until September, at 22:00 (in September at 21:00), colorfully illuminated waterfountains in the lake are accompanied by mostly classical music. Best of all: This park, and it's events are admission-free!

Kids will have their fun, as well: on richly equipped playgrounds your youngsters can climb and frolic about as they like. If you want to use the ice-skating rink on a whim, you can rent ice skates on site for a small fee.
