The HSH Nordbank Arena
Entering the Hamburg section, you'll walk directly towards the HSH Nordbank Arena. This model (initially erected under a different name) is a very special construction and for sure one of the important Wunderland landmarks. The construction of the HSV soccer stadium required more than 1,200 working hours. Adding labour costs and material costs, it is worth more than 20,000 €. The altering into the HSH Nordbank Arena in 2007 required another 200 working hours. 12,000 figures are sitting or standing on grandstands, all of them glued in place by hand. Approximately 2,000 LEDs ensure a perfect illumination of the stadium.
By the way, the arena has been built on a scale of 1:150, as a true to scale (1:87) copy would have been 2.20 metres by 3.00 metres across.
With fireworks on a scale of 1:87 today's nameplate has been unveiled at the HSH Nordbank Arena on Monday, 20th August 2007. The change of the name at the real Arena in Hamburg has taken place later.
The legendary match of HSV vs. St. Pauli in 2001 regularly, daily to be exact, takes place in the HSH Nordbank Arena. The game has been played 240,840 times by now, with the HSV leading 963,360 to 722,520 goals (updated: 05/2007).
