Weekly Report No 122, CW 9
From Monday, 24.02.2003 to Sunday, 02.03.2003
Last week, mainly our electronic wizards lost a lot of sweat... 46 cameras (infrared / black & white) had been installed at signifcant locations in the staging areas. They all send their pictures to the central control stand and secure a thorough surveillance of the invisible tracks.
The second level of 4 levels of staging has all it's trackwork and this week the tracks for the third level will be laid while SAT 1 Spiegel TV is filming it with a quick-motion camera.
And these are our opening hours for the upcoming school holidays in Hamburg:
During the Hamburg holidays from 03/10 until 03/21. (as well as Easter from 04/14 until 04/25) we extended our hours: Mo-Fr. from 9:00 to 19:00 instead of 10:00 to 18:00!!! The weekend as usual from 9:00 to 20:00, and Tuesday from 9:00 to 21:00.
The helix with the two caves grows level by level.
In order to ease tracklaying, ...,
...it is built in sections...
And this is a look into one of the caves: the tracks traverse the mountain through a very raw tunnel, lit only by a few lamps spending a ghastly light...
The two light computers which will control all lighting effects in America are built and wait to be positioned underneath the layout.
Staging #2. The sections were pre-fabricated like no. 1 and now long to be positioned in their final location. As soon as the steel cage carrying this and all levels above is ready, the staging will go in.
This week, level 3 will be built. Spiegel TV will have their quick-motion camera rolling to produce dramatic pcitures for their report on Monday, 03/31/2003 at 23:15 hrs on chanel Sat1.
These pueblo ruines will later be placed close to the canyon.
This sandstone needle will later be positioned right in the middle of the canyon. Since it is very narrow in the canyon (also due to the bridges), many components are built externally.
Our Speicherstadt warehouse complex now has a bus line that conforms to reality.
Question of the week: What the heck is going on here? We can't wait for all those speculative replies in our forum...
Speaking about the forum: In the modelling section (Modellbau) you'll find the longest thread so far relating to the topic 'junk yard'. Well, this is a foto of our compactor in action..
