Weekly Report No 92, CW 31
From Monday, 29.07.2002 to Sunday, 04.08.2002
Apart from the discussion result about the accident in the Underground maintance facility we have another little teaser for you: The preliminary track plan for America is online and may be discussed.
of course, we also have beautiful picture from the green part of the layout but are absolutely not done yet!
Result of last week's discussion: After a hint from the Hamburg fire fightes (many thanks for this!), we softened the scene a bit according to reality. Normally, in such a situation, the hurt person is screened from the view of onlookers by means of a blanket (Formula 1-fans could see this a couple of times).
The tracks are down in the helix to America. Barely to believe: the four ovals eat up 90 meters ( ~ 295 feet ) of track!!!
For now, this is the end of the line. Now, a ditch has to be dug out of the floor in order to reach America...
All the while, it is astonishing...
how, by using a bit of greenery,...
the character ...
of a scenery is changed...
But: What looks great in one place...
... gives a trashy impression in other places... Although it might seem that tomorrow we will open for the public, there's a lot work ahead of us.... But what is this? ;-) There is the first oversized train on his test run!!! The doubler header with its coal drag has capital length of 4.8 meters ( 15.7 feet ) is successfully directed over the layout by Railware...
Work in room 5 also progresses; at least the lift is built in although the wires dangling from the wall in the first floor give the impression that the first run is still far away...
In the room itself,...
the floor tiles are laid...
