Welcome to the forum!
Did you ever think about building modules? Even in HO-scale, modules are real space-savers and on top of that give a lot of fun building and sharing them with others Very Happy

Just my 2 cents...

Well, I also don't have much real estate a railroad empire. So I build modules which I can snap together whenever I'm in the mood of running trains and stow away on shelves after a session. Admittedly I work in N-scale which makes things a lot easier than H0-scale. My modules measure 4 x 2 feet (1,21 m X 0,61 m), Corner modules are 4 x 4 feet. When I set up a temporary layout in my basement, I can run trains of up to 3 meters in length which gives me lots of operation opportunities.

Have a nice day,

Erhard
