Hi trainwrekd,
Well, let's put it this way:
We had many inquiries from abroad investors but so far had to reject every single one. The reason is that we're very happy here in Hamburg and we're also convinced that a Wunderland cannot be built to just economic principles. If, however, some time in the future a "train-nuts" investor from the US or Canada wants to talk to us and really understands the spirit of the Wunderland, we are certainly willing to discuss this matter with him.
Regards,
Erhard

Why don't you ask for sponsors, such as Union Pacific or DB (to represent their rail transport company), Southwestern Airlines or AirFrance (to, again, represent their air transport company). The possibilities are almost endless - all we just have to do is give it a shot. I'm all for it!

Hi Derek.
You might be for it, the owners have not yet done so while that would make it more difficult for them to build what they want and with what they want. As long as they continue to touch the sky each year anyhow, I really cant see any limits either.

@ Derrick:
We don't want any sponsors since we love our independence. Once you have a sponsor, it won't take long until he wants his own ideas and/or his own materials represented on the layout...

I think the guys at wunderland have got it just right,i like the idea of them all having free range to input there own ideas as well as having parts of the world in the lay out and a fantastic railway. I would love to do something like this in the uk "if i had the money" and i wouldent have a sponsor, it would be like minded model makers all adding eliments to the layout as well as a great railway, maybe if i won the lottery it will happen ,but untill then i will visit and enjoy what the guys at wunderland are doing.
keep modeling guys..... |
